WMI Hires Financial Strategist

Houston -- Waste Management Inc. (WMI) has appointed Bob Merz vice president of profit and budget analysis. Merz will lead the company’s financial planning and cost-control activities and will report to David Steiner, WMI’s executive vice president and chief financial officer. Prior to joining WMI, Merz was vice president of financial planning and analysis for United Airlines for 12 years.
