Waste Industries Reports First Quarter Results

Raleigh, N.C. -- Waste Industries USA Inc. has reported first quarter 2003 revenue of $62.9 million compared to $60 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2002. Operating income was $5.8 million compared to $6.4 million for the same period one year ago. Income before a cumulative effect of a change in accounting principles was $2.2 million or 16 cents per share, and for the same quarter ended 2002, income was $2.3 million or 17 cents per share.
