Safety-Kleen President to Step Down

Plano, Texas – Safety-Kleen Corp. has announced that Ronald Rittenmeyer, the company’s chairman, CEO and president for two-and-a-half years will resign after his replacement is found. Rittenmeyer joined Safety-Kleen in 2001 and helped the company successfully emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy in Dec. 2003.

"Bringing Saftey-Kleen out of bankruptcy was an extremely challenging and rewarding opportunity," Rittenmeyer says. "Now, it’s time to complete the transition and bring in a new executive to lead the company for the long-term."

The search for Rittenmeyer’s replacement is expected to take six to nine months, the company reports.
