Miami -- BFI Waste Systems of North America has accused All Service Refuse of mailing cancellation letters to BFI commercial customers in the Miami-Dade County area. All Service Refuse is owned by Ft. Lauderdale-based Republic Waste Services and BFI is owned by Allied Waste, Scottsdale Ariz. The companies are No. 3 and No. 2 in the waste industry, respectively. The battle has led BFI to file suit against Republic in Broward Circuit Court, according to news sources.

The suit alleges that All Service altered BFI’s cancellation form, which then was faxed to BFI customers. This led some customers to believe that BFI had cancelled their waste collection services.
