LANDFILL MANAGER

CITY OF NORTHAMPTON, MA

Full-time (40 hrs/wk) Landfill Manager for the Department of Public Works. Annual salary range: $37,475 – $57,876 with full benefits. Duties: Administer the operation of and supervise all municipal employees at the landfill and ancillary facilities. Facilitate on-site performance of 3rd party contractor. Ensure diversion of recyclables and hazardous waste from waste stream; ensure proper maintenance of facility equipment; prepare DEP reports and maintain good public relations on behalf of the City. Minimum Qualifications: Assoc. degree or Cert. Program in Civil Engineering, Construction Tech. or other related field; 6 yrs. Exp. in civil/sanitary engineering, public works construction or solid waste management w/minimum of 2 yrs. exp. in landfill operations supervision. MA Class D license required; Extensive knowledge of principles and practices of solid waste management and technology, MA and Federal rules & regs regarding solid and hazardous waste management desired.
