NASA First Federal Agency to Use LFG

Washington, D.C. -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has praised the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) for being the first federal agency to directly use landfill gas (LFG) to produce energy at one of its facilities. NASA is using gas from the Sandy Hill Landfill owned by Prince George’s County, Md., to heat buildings at the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md.
