Honolulu Fined by EPA for Hazwaste Infractions
Honolulu – An agreement has been reached between the city and county of Honolulu and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Washington, D.C., in which the city and county must pay the EPA $82,532 for hazardous waste violations. Among the infractions, in 2001, EPA inspectors found approximately 100 paint and paint thinner containers that had been used by the Department of Public Works and Department of Facility maintenance had been improperly stored.
