EPA Administrator Plans to Improve Air Quality

Washington, D.C. -- Mike Leavitt, the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) administrator, recently previewed his plan to improve the nation’s air quality to EPA employees. The unreleased details include supporting the President’s Clear Sky’s initiative; ensuring compliance with ozone and particulate standards; addressing power plant mercury emissions; and restricting off-road diesel engines. Leavitt hopes this will lead to the most productive period of air quality improvement in American history, according to the agency.
