New Haven, Conn. — The Journal of Industrial Ecology, part of Yale University’s School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, has issued a call for papers on the use of biomass as potentially harmful to the environment, contrary to popular belief that it is a greenhouse gas reducer.

Interested parties should consider both the good and bad environmental implications of bio-based materials and fuels, including bio-polymers, bio-ethanol, biodiesel and other similar biomass products. The deadline for submissions is Dec. 2, 2002. Visit www.yale.edu/jie/cfpbiobased.htm for more information.
