Allied, Stericycle Report Q4 Results

Scottsdale, Ariz. -- Allied Waste Industries has reported a fourth-quarter loss and a 1.7 percent increase in revenue from $1.29 billion to $1.31 billion. For 2003, Allied had a net income of $128.7 million compared with $215.1 million last year. In 2004, the company expects a seasonal downturn during the first quarter, with increased business during the second and third quarters.

Lake Forest, Ill.-based Stericycle Inc. also has reported its latest earnings. The company posted revenue of $114.6 million in the fourth quarter, an increase from $103.2 million or 11 percent during the same period last year. Net income in the fourth quarter rose 6.1 percent to $18.4 million from $11.4 million during the fourth quarter 2002. For 2003, revenues increased to $453.2 million, up from $401.5 million or an increase of 12.9 percent.
