The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is seeking applications for its 2010 Tire Amnesty Grant Program. The grants are awarded to local governments, businesses, schools and other organizations to design and host scrap tire collection events.

Applicants must use the collected tires “as feedstock for a viable and technologically proven scrap tire end-use market or beneficial use as designated by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency,” according to a DNR press release. Applications are due on April 5, 2010, and the winners will be announced in May.
