Houston-based Waste Management (WM) and Sony Electronics are expanding their electronics recycling initiative by offering a $100 coupon for a new Sony BRAVIA high-definition television to anyone who drops off an old television at any one of the 79 WM eCycling Centers throughout the country. The coupons will be offered until March 15, 2008. WM and Sony started the program in August 2007 and plan on having 150 recycling centers by the summer of 2008.

“We value Sony as a partner and are excited to be expanding our partnership to reward responsible consumers who seek waste management services for their old electronics,” said Patrick DeRueda, president of WM Recycle America, in a press release. “The take back program has been a huge success since its inception, gathering more than 530 tons of electronic waste to date, and we anticipate the TV Trade Up promotion to further encourage people to recycle.”
