SCS Field Services, Long Beach, Calif., has partnered with the Dalton-Whitfield Regional Solid Waste Management Authority (DWRSWMA) and Dow Chemical to build a landfill gas-to-energy plant in Dalton, Ga.

SCS Field Services will build the facility at the DWRSWMA landfill, as well as a two-mile pipeline from the facility to a nearby Dow facility. “We realized we could derive a benefit from the landfill gas instead of just flaring it and are very pleased that Dow can use it at their facility,” said Norman Barashick, executive director of DWRSWMA, in a press release.
