Philadelphia-based RecycleBank has announced an expansion throughout the New England area. The communities of Southbridge, Sturbridge, Charlton, Webster, Dudley and Leicester, Mass. have agreed to participate in the program. RecycleBank is a recycling program that tracks the amount of recyclables for a community and rewards it with points, which can be used at hundreds of local and national RecycleBank partners. Shaw’s, a local supermarket chain, was one of the first retailers to sign up as a rewards partner for the expansion.

“As the company looks to expand nationwide, we eagerly welcome new communities, waste haulers and reward partners that emulate our vision to make recycling efforts financially profitable and easy for all involved,” said Ron Gonen, CEO of RecycleBank, in a press release.
