Starting in July, the Lancaster County Solid Waste Management Authority (LCSWMA), Lancaster, Pa., will add televisions to the list of materials it will accept for free at its household hazardous waste facility.

“Adding this new recycling service for Lancaster County residents demonstrates the authority’s continued commitment to improving the environmental management of solid waste and recyclable materials whenever we identify an opportunity to do so,” said Jim Warner, executive director of LCSWMA, in a press release. “The unique free drive-thru household hazardous waste facility is available for all Lancaster County residents to properly recycle and dispose an extensive list of potentially hazardous materials found in the home.”

The list of accepted materials includes computers, cell phones, fluorescent bulbs and compact bulbs, batteries, pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, household cleaners, paints, and other devices that contain mercury.
