EPA Awards $2 Million in Funding for Foreign GTE Facilities

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has awarded nine countries grants totaling $2 million to fund gas-to-energy facilities under the Methane to Markets Partnership, which is an international effort promoting methane gas-to-energy facilities. Among the countries to receive funds are Argentina, Brazil, China, India, Korea, Mexico, Nigeria, Russia and Ukraine.

“By financing international projects through the Methane to Markets Partnership, the U.S. government and its global partners are cutting greenhouse gases while promoting economic development and energy security,” said Bob Meyers, principal deputy assistant administrator for the EPA Office of Air & Radiation, in a press release.
