Charlotte names new solid waste director

Charlotte City Manager Pam Syfert has named Victoria Garland director of Solid Waste Services. Garland has 23 years of experience in the solid waste industry and joined the city in 2005 as deputy director of solid waste services.

Garland was the interim director while the city conducted a national search to fill the position after Wayman Pearson retired in December 2006.
