Casella Waste Releases 2008 Financial Results

Casella Waste Systems, Rutland, Va., which wrapped up its fiscal year on April 30, has released fourth-quarter and fiscal year 2008 results. For the quarter, the company reported a net loss of $7.8 million on revenues of $140 million, compared to a net loss of $19.3 million on revenues of $127 million in fourth-quarter 2007.

For its 2008 fiscal year, Casella reported a net loss of $7.8 million on revenues of $580 million, compared to a net loss of $17.8 million on revenues of $531 million for the fiscal year 2007.

“This was an exciting year for our team,” said John Casella, chairman and CEO of Casella Waste, in a press release. “We made great progress on all of the operational and financial goals we set at the beginning of the year, even in the face of a weak economy in the Northeast."
