Allied Waste Posts Fourth-Quarter Profit
Scottsdale, Ariz. — Allied Waste Industries Inc., Scottsdale, Ariz., posted a fourth-quarter net income of $12 million, or 4 cents a share, on revenues of $1.35 billion. In fourth-quarter 2003, the firm posted a 523.2 million net loss, or $2.38 per share, on revenues of $1.31 billion. Last year’s loss was the result of the conversion of preferred stock and costs incurred to repay debt, the company says.
For all of 2004, Allied posted a net income of $27.7 million, or 9 cents a share, on revenues of $5.3 billion. In 2003, the firm had a net loss of $463.5 million, or $2.27 a share, on revenues of $5.2 billion.
