  • Robert B. Stearns, co-founder of SCS Engineers has retired from the Long Beach-Calif.-based company. He served for more than 30 years as the president and chairman and now will serve as chairman at least through 2008 and as a consultant.

  • Waste Management CEO David P. Steiner, has joined the Energy Security Leadership Council, a group of U.S. CEOs and retired military leaders working toward a national strategy to reduce oil dependence.

  • Routeware, Beaverton, Ore., has appointed Dennis Keizer VP, sales. He will be responsible for the company's U.S. sales efforts. Previously, he led the sales efforts for the Midwestern Group of Houston-based Waste Management.

  • Vermeer Manufacturing, Pella, Iowa, has named Jessica Held as the company's marketing communications manager. She previously owned and operated a graphic design and advertising studio and spent six years with the company.
