Bill Wolpin is the Associate Publisher and Editorial Director of American City and County and Waste Age magazines. He joined Atlanta-based Communication Channels, Inc. (now Penton Media) in January 1983.
Bill has judged several national magazine and engineering award competitions, and has been a speaker at the magazine industry’s leading conference, the Folio show. His magazines have won more than 50 national, regional and state awards for excellence, including a 2001 Jesse H. Neal Award for his editorials in Waste Age, four Folio Gold Editorial Excellence Awards and a Gold Ozzie. He also was a 2005 Neal Award finalist for his editorials in American City & County.
Bill has received an employee excellence award, a CEO Award and was a finalist for employee of the year. In 2003, he was the recipient of the Lawrence Lecture award, the highest honor bestowed by the Solid Waste Association of North America. In 2006 was named to the Hall of Fame by Magazine Association of the Southeast.
He currently serves as a member of the Penton Media Editorial Council and is an executive board member of the Magazine Association of the Southeast, where he also served as president.
Bill earned an A.B.J. and M.A. in Mass Communications at the University of Georgia. He and his wife have been married for 32 years and have two sons.

Stephen Ursery is the editor of Waste Age magazine. He has worked for Penton Media for seven years. Before joining Waste Age as the magazine's managing editor, he was an associate editor for American City & County and for National Real Estate Investor.
Before joining Penton, Stephen worked as a reporter for The Marietta Daily Journal and The Fulton County Daily Report, both of which are located in metro Atlanta.
Stephen earned a BA in History from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn.

Steven Averett joined the Waste Age staff in February 2006. Before that, he spent three years as the staff writer for Industrial Engineer magazine, where he won a gold GAMMA Award from the Magazine Association of the Southeast for Best Feature. He has written and edited material covering a wide range of topics, including video games, manufacturing, and aeronautics. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia, where he earned a BA in English.

Before joining Waste Age in February 2007, Chris spent two years as an editorial assistant for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. He received his MA in Communications from Marquette University and his ABJ in Journalism from the University of Georgia.
Chris handles the Tip-Off section of the
magazine and the daily news posted on the Web site.

Before joining Waste Age in September 2005, Deanna received her Masters of Mass Communication from the University of Georgia. She also earned her BA in English from Columbia College located in Columbia, SC.
As assistant editor, Deanna handles the product section of the magazine and writes a monthly story for the Tip Off section. She also works as assistant
editor for American City & County and HomeCare.

Tim Clary, a waste industry advertising sales veteran since 1986, also has represented Access Control and Security Systems Integration, Adhesives Age, Airline Executive International, Elastomerics, and Modern Paint and Coatings magazines.
Prior to joining the Waste Age staff, Tim was a media buyer and account executive for a Tulsa, Okla.-based advertising agency. Tim received his B.S. in Journalism from Oklahoma State University and completed Southern Methodist University's Cox School of Business Graduate Marketing Certification program. He lives with his wife and children in Dallas.
Jay Schlosser

Jay Schlosser served as regional sales manager and advertising director for Pulp & Paper magazine before joining Waste Age in 2001, bringing 20 years of advertising industry expericnce with him. Schlosser graduated from the University of South Carolina on a full tennis scholarship and served as a tennis pro in the Atlanta area. He is married and has two children.

Gregg is the publisher of American City & County, HomeCare and Waste Age magazines. He has been in publishing since 1973, joining AC&C in 1988. Gregg graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a B.S. in Marketing and Finance. He lives in Roswell, Ga., with his wife Sue, daughters Kirsten and Lauren, and Lola the dog.
