Request for Information
The Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County, Florida, (Authority) is seeking to gauge the interest and capabilities of vendors by issuing this Request for Information and Capabilities (RFIC) for the Design, Construction, and Operation of a New Facility capable of processing up to 3,000 tons per day of municipal solid waste utilizing volume reduction and energy production technology. Please note that the Authority is concurrently in the process of procuring a vendor for the Design, Construction, and Operation of a New Mass Burn Waste to Energy Facility (Firms already deemed Qualified under that process are not being requested to submit a response to this RFIC). However, the Authority is interested in identifying other proven, commercially-viable, financeable technologies that may alter or supplement their approach. The RFIC requires that the responding firm provide data and documentation as required by the Information and Capability Questionnaires (ICQ) included therein. The completed ICQ submitted in response to this RFIC will be reviewed by the Authority. Based on this review, Respondents may be invited to meet with the Authority for further discussions and the Authority may request to conduct site visits of reference facilities. The deadline for the ICQ submittal is September 4, 2009. The Authority reserves the right to postpone or cancel this process at their sole discretion at any time. The RFIC will be available for download on the Authority’s website (www.swa.org) on or around August 3, 2009. For further information regarding the RFIC, please contact:
