Monthly Salary: $7,492—$9,356

Reporting to the General Manager, the Diversion Services Manager plans, develops and implements programs that promote and provide for reduction of solid waste at its sources and through recycling, reuse or transformation processes to protect the environment and conserve landfill capacity. Evaluates all factors involved in improving waste processing methods and oversees permitting and compliance issues for programs and facilities. Supervises a staff of seven in the Resource Recovery and Household Hazardous Waste Collection services. Implements comprehensive public education programs and coordinates media relations.

This position requires eight years of work experience in public or business administration focusing on source reduction, recycling, waste management or in the field of environmental science or engineering, including at least three years in a managerial position. A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university will serve as four years of experience; a Master’s Degree is equivalent to five years of experience.
