Timing can be critical in any business, and thanks to an array of online products, solid waste professionals don't have to wait a month between issues to find what they need. And, no one is doing more to meet the immediate demands for news, trends and product information than Waste Age. We have developed a family of online resources that work hand-in-hand with our magazine to keep our readers on top of their market.

Most recently, Waste Age has joined with the Waste Equipment Technology Association (WASTEC) to create an online buyers' guide called the Waste Industry Marketplace. Available at our www.wasteindustrysite.com and www.wastec.org, the Marketplace allows industry members to quickly locate suppliers by eliminating the need for a broad Internet search through a standard search engine.

Users can conduct keyword-driven searches or they can search for vendors grouped by product categories. They can file a Request for Information to contact multiple suppliers at once. Users also can download the Marketplace directly to their desktops to make product shopping more convenient.

“Waste Age and its partner, WASTEC, have combined resources to give the industry its most complete and readily accessible online buyers' guide,” says Gregg Herring, Waste Age's group publisher. “With a product-intensive business such as ours, we expect the Web site to be one of the busiest in the industry.”

However, the Marketplace is merely one way that Waste Age is the leader in creating online resources for the industry. With the ever-evolving wasteindustrysite.com, we are creating a one-stop shop for solid waste information.

Visit the site for the latest industry news, events, research, job openings and more than 10 years worth of waste industry stories arranged by category, plus links to our magazine's individual Web site and the WasteExpo site. Coming soon to wasteindustrysite.com are The Briefing Room and a staff-written blog. The Briefing Room is a “virtual press conference,” meaning that suppliers and waste haulers will be able to upload press releases for viewing by site visitors. The blog will provide a forum for our staff to discuss industry news and for readers to make their own comments. And to help us do our job better, we want to hear from you about what you would like to see on wasteindustrysite.com and wasteage.com. Send your comments to sursery@wasteage.com.

With our online resources, our award-winning monthly magazine, and our relationships with the WasteExpo trade show and the Environmental Industry Associations, no one delivers industry members what they need — and when they need it — better than Waste Age.
