WasteExpo celebrated its 40th anniversary by blowing into Chicago for the 2008 show. The event, which was held at McCormick Place, attracted more than 520 exhibitors, approximately 150 of which were new to the show.

The exhibitors enjoyed plenty of traffic, as 8,720 industry buyers — a number that does not include show staff, speakers, press or exhibitor personnel — attended the show. That figure represents an 11 percent increase from the 2007 show in Atlanta.

WasteExpo 2008 also hosted 950 international attendees from 64 countries. One-hundred fifty-eight people attended the co-located Medical Waste Conference, an increase from the 124 attendees in 2007.

Want to get in on next year's show, set for June 8-11 at the Las Vegas Convention Center? For information on exhibiting or attending, visit www.wasteexpo.com.
